2013 Yukon Quest

End of Race Update!

Well that went by fast! The Completion of the 2013 Yukon Quest has come, and here at RefrigiWear we are already missing all the daily action. We feel so honored to have been a part of an event like this. We have come out of this experience with new friends and lasting memories.

If you would like to see photos of our journey you can visit our facebook page, and "like" us to follow up for future events.

We have also posted a video montage on to our YouTube page for fans to view as well at the RefrigiWear YouTube page.

We would like to say congratulations to Allen Moore for winning the Race! Also recognize Dyan Bergen for sticking with it and making it though! For full details on the Yukon Quest visit their webpage or facebook page.

Every February Alaska celebrates the dog sled mail delivery routes from the early 1900s with the annual Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race.

RefrigiWear is thrilled to be a participant for the 2013 Race as Veterinary Care Sponsor! We have supplied a monetary donation, and in addition have outfitted all 15 official race veterinarians with RefrigiWear garments and accessories. This gear includes coats, bib overalls, mittens, glove liners, balaclavas and thermal insoles.

Representatives from RefrigiWear will be at the start and finish lines of the race, where we will take photos and provide live updates on this adventure, so be sure to follow along on this exciting journey with us!

Adrien Saulais will be managing our social media updates from our Dahlonega headquarters. Kate Bishop, our Marketing Manager, will be at the start of the race as a publicity officer for RefrigiWear, and will post updates from the trail. Miriam Austin, our Manager of Digital Strategy, will also be there in her capacity as photographer, and will be uploading photos and video of the event. Ron Breakstone, president of RefrigiWear, will present the Vet's Choice Award at the Finish Banquet. Official updates and race results will be available on the Yukon Quest website.

The Yukon Quest, featuring 26 mushers, begins February 2, 2013 in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, and ends whenever the final team crosses the finish line in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Along the route there are nine checkpoints and four mandatory layovers where veterinarians are on hand to examine the dogs as they progress through the race. All the veterinarians on the Yukon Quest Veterinary Team are members of the International Sled Dog Veterinary Medical Association (ISDVMA).
